New Publications

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) announces the publication by Island Press of Terrestrial ecoregions of the Indo-Pacific: a conservation assessment. This book offers a comprehensive examination of the state of the Indo-Pacific's biodiversity, habitats, and conservation status of ecoregions, including the amount and distribution of remaining habitat. Lists of endemic bird and mammal species are presented by ecoregion as part of appendices that describe in detail each of the 140 ecoregions in the Indo-Pacific. This volume follows Terrestrial Ecoregions of North America and Freshwater Ecoregions of North America. Contact Eric Wikramanayake, Eric.Wikramanayake@wwfus.org, or Colby Loucks, colby.loucks@wwfus.org.

Carnivore Conservation (www.carnivoreconservation.org/) provides information on carnivore ecology and conservation, including meetings and job opportunities. News headlines are updated daily. An extensive database of carnivore literature is also available. Most sections are separated into the cat, canid, bear, and mustelid families. Subscribers to the Carnivore Discussion List receive weekly news in digest form.
