Registration For The 2001 Annual Meeting
SCB's 15th annual meeting, Ecological lessons from islands, will be held in Hilo, Hawaii from 29 July through 1 August. The meeting will be co-hosted by the Pacific Island Ecosystems Research Center (PIERC) of the Biological Resources Division, USGS; the University of Hawaii; and Hawaii's Secretariat for Conservation Biology. Field trips are being organized by an interagency group of biologists from the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Geological Survey, University of Hawaii, and the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Hilo is a popular travel destination in the summer, and the concurrent timing of the 2001 World Conference on Hula will mean that airline flights and rental cars will be in great demand. We encourage you to make all travel plans as soon as possible.
The call for submission of abstracts and instructions for student award applications appeared in the August 2000 newsletter. Information about the scientific program, social events, travel, and accommodations appeared in the November 2000 newsletter. Please refer to the newsletter, online newsletter, or meeting website for complete details. To register for the meeting and/or field trips, mail or FAX the forms in the hard-copy version of the February 2001 newsletter or visit the meeting website, http://www.uhh.hawaii.edu/~SCB/ Further information about the meeting is available from
